Worse before it gets better...right?

We are now over a month into the work, it's been fine mostly, the excitement carrying us forward as we unearth more jobs to do everyday...but alas, as the autumn winds and rain set in, the mud gets stickier, the dust couldn't get any thicker, and with the house looking its most tragic, I think we're in the hardest stage yet.
So, the only way is up (baby) and we'll keep digging the basement to make it deep enough to stand in (for husbands drum kit) and then have the fireplace fixed, the kitchen floor back together and the bathroom intact. The plaster man is in next week, that should help with the look of the place...
and all I can think about is family, friends, good food, wine, cushions and other soft, cosy, warm furnishings...yes, it's the light at the end of my tunnel!

The Kitchen, floorless.

other side of the kitchen...

Fireplace awaiting a fix up and some chimney sweeping!

Down in the basement, miners tools in use!

Husband working on his lunch break...

1920's tiles I'm hoping to reclaim and use in the kitchen somewhere, and a collinder from the basement.

One of the many finds in the basement, wooden leg? Among other things, like a butchers scale, record player, silver spoons and some vintage cameras...which will go straight to brothers collection!
